Aerosol-tight lids do not prevent formation of aerosols during centrifugation; rather, they ensure aerosols cannot leak from the closed system.
Če se cev zlomi ali pušča, centrifuge ne odpirajte vsaj 30 minut po teku. Ker tega ni mogoče vedno zaznati, preden odprete vedra ali rotor (nenadno neravnovesje je lahko prvi znak zloma cevi), priporočamo, da ves čas počakate vsaj 10 minut, preden odprete posode.
